About Brooks

Brooks has been making tried and true running shoes since the ‘70s, but they’ve been in the business of shoemaking for even longer. Did you know that Brooks originated in Philadelphia as a maker of ballet slippers and bathing shoes in the 1910s? They kept evolving from there, venturing into roller skates, cleats for sport and eventually the running shoes you’ve come to know and love.

Since Brooks fully shifted their focus to running gear in 2001, they’ve been making shoes and clothing beloved by runners of all shapes, sizes and strides. Responsible running

Brooks’ goal is to increase the diversity of their workplaces, responsibly source materials and reduce overall impact on the environment. Brooks is a founding partner of the Running Industry Diversity Coalition, which unites running brands to increase diversity in running. Environmental targets Brooks wants to hit by 2030 include elimination of shoe waste sent to landfills or incinerators and use of only materials with at least 50% recycled or bio-based content.
